I’d bought a few mint sets, and ocasionally thought about saving particularly good-looking coins. Someone gave me some more coins for Christmas, and I’ve exploded into coin collecting.There’s a ton of stuff to learn. No other bank used to accept US coins. Your best bet is to just roll them and take them with you when you cross the border. You don't necessarily have to go to a bank there to exchange them, just use them when you shop at larger stores. I don't believe just any bank will change U.S. coin to U.S. bills for you, but I believe the Royal Bank (RBC) used to do it...don't know if they still do.
